If you are visiting this site, the chances are good you have tried unsuccessfully to become pregnant for at least one year or have an ongoing medical problem which inhibits your ability to become pregnant. If you are experiencing abnormal menstrual cycles or abnormal hair growth, an examination by one of our endocrinologists may be indicated.
The physicians at University Women's HealthCare go through the following steps with each patient:
- Identify and diagnose the problem. While a fertility workup can identify many causes for female infertility, the possibility of male factor infertility will be also investigated at this point through a routine semen analysis. One of the most common cause of female infertility is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
- Discuss treatments.
- Develop a partnership with each patient and her support team which may include her husband, another relative or friend, and her referring physician.
- Help the patient choose the most fitting plan for their situation based on financial, social, religious, ethical and medical factors.
- Choose a cost-effective treatment plan that merges the highest quality care with the best possible outcome.
Infertility may be caused by hormonal imbalances, such as thyroid problems, or by physical defects of the reproductive system, such as blocked fallopian tubes. To correct these problems, University Women's HealthCare offer a full range of Endocrinology Services or Pelvic and Reproductive Surgeries, in addition to Medical Therapies and Surgical Treatments such as in vitro fertilization.
